In this class, children ages 8-12 will gain experience with coding and animation using Scratch while creating their own donut dodge game!
Block categories used will include motion, looks, sound, events, control, sensing, operators, and variables.

This class supports collaboration and learners may be prompted to work together to solve challenges.  

This class supports experimentation and encourages learners to try different combinations of blocks so that they can see what happens and learn to create their own unique and interesting designs.  

Your child will learn

  • How to insert a background and sprites (characters/objects).

  • How to use code to make their sprite move back and forth with keyboard controls.

  • How to create and use variables to control score, lives, and object falling speed.

  • How to insert sound effects.
