In this class, children will gain experience with coding and animation using Scratch. Learners will choose letters, make them change colors, add sounds, and add a backdrop.  Learners may also learn to draw a letter, make it spin, make it glide and change the size of the letter.

This class supports collaboration and learners may be prompted to work together to solve challenges.  

This class supports experimentation and encourages learners to try different combinations of blocks so that they can see what happens and learn to create their own unique and interesting designs.  

Your child will learn

  • How to insert a background and sprites (characters/objects).

  • How to make sounds play when objects are clicked.

  • How to use color effects.

  • How to animate sprites.
